Sound is really tricky, My suggestion is to purchase a mini usb sound card that will give you two headphone jacks to plug into.

I konw this solution sucks but it has been the only thing that I can seem to find that works.

I find you have got nice responses. Thats really great. Nice to wonder about the LINUX installation in a systematic way. I can edit the default boot to boot into Windows. Thanks for the kind help to me and to all other who find pleasant with the post. MBR is the right choice. I really have liked to square one with less than 10GB on my C drive.Find interest at every point you try to convey. Thanks………!

Hello AppAholic, nice site, congrats on the one year of your blog!

I have a problem that I can’t seem to fix, will you help me??

Here it is:
I install Ubuntu on my Lenovo 3000 N200 (Intel Centrino Duo) laptop last year but I could not figure out heads or tail about why I cannot get the sound to work. I have searched the net but cannot find any information that I could understand (even on Ubuntu’s website) on account that this is the first time I’m using Linux. I still have Ubuntu on my laptop but I can’t listen or view videos. So, can you please help me.

Linux does more than just mess up your hard rive, it also screws up other things. Solution, never use Linux – it’s a waste of time. Good only for web servers.

To fix the boot record you simply put in the Windows install disk, click “repair”, then type fix mbr. Can’t remember if there is a space between fix and mbr or not.
