Description : Windows Apple Live Messenger. Love Apple but currently using Windows Live Messenger? Change nothing bur the style and look of WLM to look like its running on an Mac! Add some style to your dull MSN WLM!
If you haven’t already worked it out so far, I like mac style on windows machines! I’ve been using StyleXP to skin my OS since I knew how, and haven’t looked back. The only thing that was refusing to adjust, was my MSN WLM window. This problem is now solved!
Recently, msnPLUS has added custom skins to its list of enhancements, and Apple Live Messenger (ALM) is one of the most popular skins. Its racked up over 200,000 downloads since its launch in December 07, and is the third most popular WLM skin! The other two are a Vista Ultimate theme, and one called Ev0.
Ever since msnPlus was released (now wlmPLUS), it has always added so many useful features to msn. Transparency, desktop contacts, boss key, tabbed chats, chat log encryption, just to name a few of my favourites. The best feature though is the good old PLUGIN! A few of which I shall explain later. To cut to the point, wlmPLUS is just a little bit good!
Many people say that MSN/WLM PLUS has adverts and spyware in the installation. This is completely not true! All you have to do, is uncheck the “support wlmPLUS by installing adds” check box, and you will have an advert free installation! Once you have quite finished with fiddling around with all the settings to make it how YOU want it (rather than what MS think), then you can download the skin, and your away.
The Apple skin for WLM is really neat. If you like your mac style, then you will love the skin. It effects the chat window as well as the contacts window. I have tried the other two skins mentioned, and found that the Ev0 skin was too intrusive, and the Vista skin… well to vista. (I’m not up to submitting to vista quite yet.)
There are lots of plug-ins free to download on the wlmPLUS website. Over the years, I’ve downloaded quite a few, however, I have slowly disabled most of them, to leave my favourite and most essential. “Enhancer” lets me minimize and auto hide the contacts window to a side of my screen! YES, WOW! I also used to love Group Conversation Warner, which would stop me being added to stupid massive conversations with 50 contacts and lagging up my computer completely!
Another favourite is the IPGet, which tells you the current IP connections. Useful for finding the IP of your contacts. This can scare some tech savvy people! Or you may have some other use for it. Screenshot Sender is always handy, as it means you can easily and quickly send screen shots to your contacts without any saving files and locating them or any rubbish like that. Finally, the SendTo plugin. Adds “Send to contact” on the send to list. Rather handy when you want to send files to a contact without having to find them twice or again. Just right click, send to WLM contact, and then select the contact you want to send the file to.
Conclusion : Apple Live Messenger. The WLM PLUS skin for those who like to imitate a mac while keeping the compatibility of windows. A must have for the Mac or Apple fanboy!

Wow, I’m having huge problems with your forms… Wouldn’t let me post at first, now it’s responding weirdly to the arrow keys & backspace/delete - sometimes not reacting, sometimes reacting in the wrong place. My browser is Firefox 2.0.0.12, updated yesterday.
The post is about making WLM look the way the user likes it, but it sounded at first like it was only a Mac skin or ported Mac app. Please try to be more clear at the outset that it could appeal to non-Mac-lovers too!
Anyway, your title & intro are misleading, I almost missed out on a cool suggestion because of it!

I miss my Mac. I crossed to the dark side some years ago, and I still regret having to do it. Maybe this will help bring back just a little of what I had to leave behind.

I have been using both Windows and Mac Messangers. However Mac Messanger has many bugs. Sometimes somebody sends me a message and my messanger stops working. I have never seen this problem on Windows Messanger…
